Who is responsible
Jack Vegas, the website at jack-vegas.net, is responsible for the personal data described here. For anything to do with your data, email hello@jack-vegas.net.
What stays in your browser
When you play, your browser keeps one small record in its local storage, under the name jv:save. It holds:
- whether you have confirmed you are 18 or over;
- the nickname you chose and your coin balance;
- when you checked in, when you last collected a daily top-up and how many automatic refills you have had;
- whether you have dismissed the storage note.
This record never leaves your device. Our server does not receive it, and we cannot see it, change it or recover it. Check out from your room key, or clear this site's data in your browser, and it is deleted. The cookie policy describes it in more detail.
A nickname is usually not personal data on its own. If you choose your real name, it still stays on your device only.
What the web host records
Like almost every website, Jack Vegas is served by a hosting provider whose servers keep standard access logs. These typically include your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, your browser's user-agent string and the referring page. The host uses them to deliver the site, keep it secure and investigate faults or abuse.
Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: running a website safely is not possible without them. Logs are kept for a limited period set by the host and are not used to profile you, sell to anyone or show you adverts.
What we do not do
- No accounts on our server, no email sign-up, no passwords.
- No cookies, analytics, tracking pixels or advertising tags on the site.
- No payment details, because there is nothing to pay for.
- No selling or sharing of data with marketers.
- No external fonts, scripts or embedded content that would tell another company you visited.
Jack Vegas may be advertised on Google. If you arrive through an advert, the address may include tracking parameters added by Google; our pages do not read or store them. Google's handling of ad clicks is covered by Google's own privacy policy.
If you email us
We receive your email address, your message and anything you choose to include. We use them only to reply and to deal with what you raised, on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering you. We keep correspondence for as long as needed to handle it and no longer than 12 months afterwards, unless the law requires otherwise.
Children
The site is for adults only. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has emailed us, let us know and we will delete the message.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- be told how your data is used, which is what this notice is for;
- access a copy of personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data erased;
- restrict or object to how we use it;
- receive your data in a portable format, where that applies.
To use any of these rights, email us. We will respond within one month. For the data kept in your browser you do not need us at all: you can view and delete it yourself at any time.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator for data protection: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, or by phone on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this notice
If what we collect changes, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
