A motel that only exists on screen
Jack Vegas is a social casino: a website where adults can play casino-style games for virtual coins, with no money going in and none coming out. The motel, the neon sign and the pool are stage dressing. There is no building, no front desk you can phone and no reservation to make.
We borrowed the look from the roadside motels that sprang up across the American desert in the late 1950s and early 1960s, when every rooftop seemed to sprout a starburst and every sign leaned forward as if it were about to take off. The name is a wink at the card game and at that era, and nothing more.
What you will find here
- Blackjack with a six-deck shoe and a strategy hint you can switch on and off.
- Atomic Reels, a five-reel, ten-line machine with a pay table short enough to remember.
- The Starburst Wheel, where the number under the pointer is exactly what comes back.
- Red Dog, the old in-between game, played by its proper rules.
Each room explains its own rules and prints its long-run return. If you want to know where the randomness comes from and how the figures were checked, Odds and ends goes through it game by game.
What Jack Vegas is not
It is not a gambling site. You cannot deposit, bet or win money, and there are no prizes of any real-world value, not even a voucher or a tote bag. Coins cannot be bought, sold, withdrawn or traded, and they are not a cryptocurrency or token of any kind.
It is also not connected to Las Vegas. Jack Vegas is not affiliated with, endorsed by or linked to any casino, hotel or gambling operator there or anywhere else. Any resemblance to a real motel is the fault of mid-century architects, who all seemed to have the same good idea at once.
Who it is for
Adults aged 18 and over in the United Kingdom who enjoy card games and a bit of chance, and would rather not risk anything to have that fun. Casino-style games are still casino-style games, even when the coins are pretend, which is why the door asks your age before it opens.
If you find yourself playing longer than you meant to, or thinking about gambling for real because of something you played here, please have a look at Play smart. It lists free, confidential help that is open around the clock.
How the coins work
Sign the guestbook with a nickname and you get 1,000 coins. Every 24 hours you can collect a 500-coin top-up, and if your balance falls below 25 coins, the cheapest turn in the building, the desk refills you to 1,000 automatically and tells you it has done so. That is the whole economy. There is no shop and nothing to unlock.
Your nickname and coins are kept in your own browser, not on our server. Clear your browser data or press Check out on your room key and they are gone. The privacy notice has the details.
